Freedom to Roam
This was the last weekend before panic hit. Half of people think the scientists are trust worthy and reliable with our health as a priority, the other half are driven by controversy, distrusting the public and their desire to protect themselves and others. Life was easier before covid-19, I knew holidays were bad for the environment and I wanted to be as sustainable as possible, that's why I went by boat for the first time to my favourite place in Amsterdam. Little did I know it may be the last. I've always travelled, never paid much attention to home but now I'm forced to. Now I'm waking up in the same place more times than I have possibly in my whole adult life. I used to leave my messy room to stay with friends for a weekend. Now I breathe the same air for 7 months and I'm itching to move, hunker down in a new location. That doesn't change the weather though, we're still living in a dying planet, blindsighted by a political climate as toxic as the air we breathe. The future is different but it doesn't have to be bleak. We can have less of a harmful impact on the planet. Listening to words spoken by scientists and academics. Education didn't stop after graduation, it's our duty to use our intelligence for good over evil. Welcome positive change, for with it comes a brighter future. With good health and clean food. Write an email and send it far and wide. List the change you're waiting for. Get the MP's everywhere to support the planet. The sooner that happens the sooner we can live, laugh and love like we used to.
